Now HERE'S a power walk!

A visit from a godly friend is like a triple B-12 shot! Sounds proverbial, but that's from my lips to your ears! So fun to have my dear friend Candy Davison visiting us from North East, MD this summer week in Hendersonville. You may know Candy as the most networked and admired women's ministry leader on the east coast, and that she is! Her "job" as Women's Ministry Coordinator at Sandy Cove Ministries in Maryland, is more than her job - it's her life, ministry and passion. But my most favorite thing about Candy (besides the fact that she loves raspberries, Trader Joe's, dark chocolate and has the best laugh - ever!), is that she LOVES God's word. And to take it one level past most of us, she has memorized many many chapters and consistently repeats the scriptures in her head and heart everyday. So, while on our walk through Sanders Ferry Park the other day, I asked her to recite to me while (in cadence) we "marched" around the beauty that God created. It was a divine moment. Here's just a segment from Ephesians 3. Powerful stuff. So here's my encouragement to all of you - let's get memorizing the Word of God. Let's tuck it so deeply into our hearts, minds and bone marrow - that it just oozes when needed, and becomes salve for days when your friends need it most.

Fun times at Sandy Cove!

The "Selective Memory Getaway" at Sandy Cove for November was literally a blast! Peggy Dawson's character, "Maybell Jerkwater" had us ALL rolling! "Cousin Candy" was thrilled to be a part of it all (Candy Davison!) You can just tell by her face - isn't she having a time??? The Kitchen Band entertained us all. I had the "privilege" of playing the PLUNGER! What a riot! Yes, women come to the SMG's at Sandy Cove, to decompress, de-stress, and "forget" their troubles for a night. I loved seeing my dear friends from the South Seaville UMC in NJ! Their presence to this month's group was a hilarious and spontaneous mixture of joy and fun. Frances Drost spoke and sang, and blew us all away! What a great songwriter and speaker. I truly wonder if all the women, either those attending the over night or those just attending the brunch - had any idea what a divine appointment this was! AND we even line-danced to my song, "Steppin' Out"! I think that's a first for the brunch/lunch ladies! THEY LOVED IT! I think we'll be talking about this for quite some time!
